Ms. Ricalde has over thirty years of professional experience in design, construction, research & management of airports and roads, and has a Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering. Since joining Applied Research Associates (ARA) in 2015 she has led the support of research at the FAA’s National Airport Pavement Material Research Center (NAPMRC), testing new materials (warm mix asphalt) for airfield pavement.
Ms. Ricalde has extensive experience in the evaluation and design of airfield and roadway pavements, she is a Chartered (Professional) Engineer in Peru and served from 2009 to 2015 as the Regional Aerodromes and Ground Aids Officer (AGA) for the ICAO South American Regional Office. In this role, she was involved in the creation of the Aerodromes Experts Panel for the Latin American Regional Safety Oversight Cooperation System (SVRSOP), leading to the approval of the first Latin American Aviation Regulations for Aerodromes.
From 2001 to 2009, while working as a Principal at Galaxy/SRA she was involved in the development of FAA’s new design procedures for airport pavements (FAARFIELD), construction of test items used in the research of pavement behavior under heavy traffic loads at the National Airport Pavement Test Facility (NAPTF), traffic data collection and post-traffic testing. In Peru, her airport/road design, construction, and supervision activities included Capital Works Supervisor for commercial airports for the Peruvian Corporation of Commercial Airports CORPAC S.A, Transportation Design and Construction Sector Manager for Ingenieria Dinamica S.A. Ingedisa.
