Ahmad Alfalah is a graduate research fellow at the Center for Research and Education in Advanced Transportation Engineering Systems (CREATES) at Rowan University. His current focus is on designing and enhancing asphalt mixtures. He is working on several projects, which are funded by the Department of Defense (DoD) and New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT). For the DoD, Ahmad is conducting evaluations of moisture sensitivity and freeze-thaw on asphalt mixtures, laboratory and full-scale evaluations of fiber-reinforced asphalt mixtures, cold compaction of asphalt mixtures using high frequency vibrations, and research on highly elastic asphalt binders for use in cold regions paving applications. For the NJDOT, Ahmad is making research and improvement recommendations for partial depth asphalt and concrete repair.
