Dr. Zhe Han is a Research Associate in Center for Transportation Research (CTR) at The University of Texas at Austin and a registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the state of Texas. Dr. Han earned two Bachelor’s degrees in civil engineering and law from Tsinghua University in 2012. He joined the civil engineering program at The University of Texas at Austin, where he received his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in 2013 and 2017, respectively. He also obtained portfolio in applied statistical modeling from the Department of Statistics and Data Science in 2017. His research focuses on infrastructure resilience and management, safety analysis, and statistical modeling. He has extensive experiences in real-time data processing, quantification statistical models, and dealing with big data.
Dr. Han is an author or co-author of 17 technical papers, reports, and articles and has delivered more than 23 oral presentations nationally and internationally. He is the recipient of Walter L. and Reta Mae Moore Graduate Fellowship (2016) and Robert Herman Endowed Scholarship (2015) from the University of Texas at Austin. Dr. Han was selected to receive the Best Paper Award at the 4th World Transport Convention (WTC) in 2021 and at the 9th International Conference on Managing Pavement Assets 2015 (ICMPA 2015), respectively. He is also the editor of Social Sciences: Research and Reviews (Traffic Safety Analysis field), Editorial Board Member of Transportation Management, and Editorial Board Member of International Journal of Transportation Engineering and Technology (IJTET). Dr. Han is the Chair of Technical Committee on Infrastructure Asset Management, World Transport Convention (WTC).
