Dr. Perry has over 28 years’ experience in transportation development, freight policy, planning, and operations. For the last 11 years Perry has managed the Mid America Freight Coalition (MAFC). The MAFC is housed at the University of Wisconsin, College of Engineering and supports multistate collaboration on freight planning, development and operations, along with freight research for the ten states in the Mid America Association of State Transportation Officials (MAASTO). This multistate collaborative relationship has provided national leadership and innovation in freight planning, operations and development.
Perry has led peer-to-peer exchanges and best practices development across the 10 states, and participated and managed such projects as the Truck Parking Information Management Systems (TPIMS), prioritization of investments for multistate freight corridors based on freight value and truck delay, evaluation and identification of best practices in freight planning, development of training on the uses of multimodal freight data, multistate truck platooning, and regional truck parking for oversize and weight vehicles.
