My research efforts are oriented to the development of technology for the pavements industry. I am currently focusing on optimizing the use of local aggregates (limestone/dolomite aggregates from Illinois) in high quality pavements (SMA mixes) and defining large-strain characterization methods for asphalt binder. I find inspiration in state-of-the-art knowledge and aim to improve the state-of-the-practice of pavement engineering to build efficient infrastructure for society.
