Prof. Svetlana Sukhishvili earned her Ph.D. in Polymer Chemistry from Moscow State University, Russia. After working as a Research Associate in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and as an Associate and Full Professor at Stevens Institute of Technology, she joined the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at Texas A&M University in 2015. Her research interests include the use of polymers and polymer assemblies for biomedical, soft robotics, civil engineering, and energy applications. She authored and co-authored several patents and over 150 research articles. She is a Fellow of the American Physical Society, and a recipient of several institutional and national awards. She serves on the Editorial Boards and Advisory Boards of several journals and is an Associate Editor of the journal ACS Applied Engineering Materials.
