Andalib Shams is currently working as Transportation System Research Assistant at National Renewable Energy Lab (NREL). He is also a PhD student at Department of Civil Engineering, Iowa State University. His researches are mostly focused at traffic signal control, traffic simulation and intelligent transportation system. As part of his PhD he is working on enhancing signal actuation logic based on vehicle trajectory data. At NREL, he is working on modeling emerging transportation systems, and developing and deploying traffic control algorithms.
