Dr. Navneet Garg is a Program Manager in the Airport Technology R&D Branch at the FAA’s William J. Hughes Technical Center in Atlantic City, New Jersey. He manages projects on Full-Scale Accelerated Pavement Testing, Pavement Materials, and Field Instrumentation and Testing. He earned his Ph.D. in civil engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1997. Dr. Garg has been actively involved in airport pavement research at the FAA’s National Airport Pavement Test Facility since 1998 and has authored numerous FAA technical reports, as well as research papers for various journals and conference proceedings. He has taught airport pavement design and evaluation workshops for the International Civil Aviation Organization, the Asphalt Institute, the Airport Consultants Council, and other international organizations. Currently, he serves as the secretary of the TRB Standing Committee on Aircraft/Airport Compatibility and as a co-chair for the ISAP Technical Committee on Pavement Field Evaluation. He is also an ASCE Presidential Appointee for the T&DI Board of Governors and currently serves as an associate editor for the International Journal of Pavement Engineering. In 2018, Dr. Garg received the ASCE Airfield Pavements Practitioner Award and the FAA’s 23rd Annual Ellis A. Ohnstad Award for Technical Excellence in 2022.
